ANNIE PEARL GURGANUS

Annie Pearl Gurganus, 74, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with pastor Stanley Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gurganus was born in Wayne County, and was the daughter to the late Leonard F. Grady and Hazel Grady. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Willie J. Gurganus, as well as three sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Annie R. Gurganus and Cedric Jackson of LaGrange, Diane and Mark Buchanan of Goldsboro, Leonard and Michelle Gurganus of Goldsboro and Kenneth and Cherity Gurganus of Mount Olive; 10 grandchildren, Donnie Gurganus, Angel Gurganus, Mason and Angel Campbell, April Roberts, John Gurganus and James Duane Gurganus all of Goldsboro, Curtis Campbell of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Eddie Gurganus of Kentucky; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gurganus was an avid member of East Carolina Baptist Church.
