Mary Emma Malpass Williford, 86, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Rex Healthcare surrounded by her family.

Mary was born in Lenoir County, N.C., Oct. 21, 1928, to the late Charlie Malpass and Ethel Haire Malpass, and was married to the late Ralph P. Williford.

Mary retired as a medical records clerk with Cherry Hospital.

She was a faithful member of First Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school secretary for many years.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Bailey and the Rev. Ira Williford. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mary is survived by her son, Steve Williford and wife, Jan, of Pikeville, and grandson, Parker Williford, of Pikeville.

She is also survived by her sister, Linda M. Rose of Smithfield; brothers, James Malpass and wife, Charlotte, of Goldsboro and Lee Malpass and wife, Jane, of Ramseur; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Frances M. Keen.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, at her home.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 604 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
