DAVID JACKSON HILL JR.

David Jackson Hill Jr. died Friday evening at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Born in Norfolk, Va., he was the son of the late David Jackson and Betty Frances Hill, and was the husband of Maria Fleschner Hill.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the family receiving friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home prior to the service.

David retired as a technical sergeant with the United Sates Air Force, and had worked with Wayne County Solid Waste Department for 10 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David Jackson Hill III and wife, Janet, of Pikeville; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Terry Lynn and Stevie Owens of Pikeville and Dianne H. and Jeffrey Blow of Vanceboro; a brother, Kenneth Hill and wife, Sandra, of New Port Richey, Fla.; a sister, Jackie Boltze and husband, Ted, of Norfolk, Va.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Pekau, Tanya Hill, Jakob Blow, Cody Owens, Andrew Hill, Jeremy Blow, Krista Owens and Matthew Hill; two great-grandchildren, Mason Owens and MadilynnEmerie Cartwright; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project, 1990 Fordham Drive, Suite 100, Fayetteville, N.C., 28304, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
