Ann Merice Sloan Beaman, 78, Dudley, died at her home Monday.

Born and raised in Calypso, she was the daughter of the late Estelle and Phelton Sloan, and the loving and devoted wife of the late Selby Beaman for 56 years prior to his death May 26.

She was the mother of the late Selby Theodore Beaman II.

She was a homemaker and assistant farmer.

Ann was also a member of Brogden Grange No. 967, Eastern Star and Dudley Christian Church.

A graveside service to celebrate Ann's life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Doug Dexter and the Rev. Blane Smith officiating.

Family members will greet friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.

Ann is survived by a son, John Russell "Rusty" Beaman and wife, Barbara, of Dudley; daughters, Kitty Bryan and husband, Steve, of Goldsboro and Nell West and husband, Craig, of Fremont; and she was the loving grandmother to three grandchildren, Lee West, Caroline Bryan and Luke West.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Dudley Christian Church Building Fund, 212 O'Berry Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333.
