Janet Mozingo Daughtry, 74, Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 10, 2015, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating her life at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Doug Seymour officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Park.
Janet was born in Wayne County Nov. 17, 1940, to the late Roy and Ivey Malpass Mozingo.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Carl Sasser and the Rev. Donald Daughtry.
Janet was an active member of Blended Fellowship Church.
Janet will be remembered for her unconditional love as a wife and mother and a friend to all. So, too, will she be remembered for her compassionate spirit and soul and her gift of finding joy in doing random acts of kindness for others, especially children.
Family was paramount to Janet, and she loved nothing more than her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Donald "Donnie" Sasser, Jack Sasser and Andy Daughtry; grandchildren, Windy Amory, Matthew Sasser, Zachery Rayburn, Emily Albright, Justin Sasser and Jackson Sasser; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Amory, Stacy May, Kaden May and Elianna Rayburn.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by daughters, Debbie Albright and Windy Daughtry; three brothers; and a sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Blended Fellowship, 2091 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
