THELMA K. PARRISH

Thelma King Starling Parrish, 99, native of Faison and longtime resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away Saturday night, March 28, 2015, at Abernethy Laurels Assisted Care Center in Newton, N.C.
Funeral services for Mrs. Parrish will be held Friday, April 3, at noon at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with Dr. Larry Withrow officiating, and followed by burial in Faison Cemetery in Faison.
Visitation will be at the funeral home during the hour before the service.
Mrs. Parrish was a longtime member of Salem Advent Christian Church in Mount Olive.
She was a retired homemaker, and in her earlier years, she had worked at Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Greensboro.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Gibson Parrish and Carolyn Parrish of Madison, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie P. and Robert Breeden of Denver, N.C.; another daughter-in-law, Ann Starling of Mount Olive; six grandchildren, Dale McVay, Darlene Sanders, Carla Quigley, Bill Starling, Brian Parrish and Cory Breeden; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia K. Bailey of Faison, Kathleen K. Torres of Mount Olive, Ruth K. Bennett of Goldsboro and Barbara K. Paige of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
