O'BERRY WILKINS

O'Berry Wilkins, 77, resident of Scott's Store community near Mount Olive, passed away Monday night, March 30, at his home.

He was son of the late Benjamin and Vivian Hare Wilkins.

Having been a lifelong farmer, he was also a contract United States mail truck driver employed with East Coast Transportation.

O'Berry is survived by his wife, Minnie Pearl Creech Wilkins of the home; six children, Linda W. Williamson and Eva W. Hall both of Mount Olive, Lisa W. Stroud of Albertson, Nancy W. Raynor and Dennis Wilkins both of Mount Olive and Jacqueline W. Herring of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Viola W. Beamon of Mount Olive, Nellie W. Whaley of Kinston and Mary W. Ward of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Katie W. Ward and Louvenia W. Dail, and a young brother, David Wilkins.

Funeral services for Mr. Wilkins will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, from Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kelvin Coates officiating, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Ward.

Visitation will immediately follow the service.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Wilkins Family Cemetery near the residence on Buck Hill Road.
