DOLLIE RUTH (REID) GREENFIELD
June 7, 1931-March 7, 2015
Dollie Ruth (Reid) Greenfield, wife of the late Warren H. Greenfield Sr. and daughter of the late Lafayette and Sallie (Armwood) Reid, was born June 7, 1931, in Pikeville, N.C., and quietly departed this life Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She attended the public schools in Pikeville, N.C.
April 12, 1947, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Warren H. Greenfield Sr. To this union, nine children were born.
Her son, Warren H. Greenfield Jr., preceded her in death.
Fourteen of her siblings also preceded her in death.
To cherish her memory, she leaves five daughters, Mattie G. Wilson of Woodbridge, Va., Helga A. Greenfield of Mableton, Ga., Sallie G. Byron (Ray) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Wanda E. Bryant (Ronnie) of Mount Olive, N.C., and Ingrid N. Johnson (Carson) of Newport News, Va.; three sons, Fane S. Greenfield Sr. (Sharon), Frederick W. Greenfield (Marilyn) of Providence Forge, Va., and Duane D. Greenfield of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Annie Doris (Reid) Smith of Goldsboro, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
As a child, she attended Hooks Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Prior to her illness, she was a faithful and loyal member of St. James AME Zion Church.
The viewing will be at noon, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. at Eastern Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Family will receive friends at the home located at 2200 S. John St., Goldsboro, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, you may send contributions to the Alzheimer's Association Eastern North Carolina in her memory.
