Sallye Tilton Anderson, 88, passed away early Monday morning at her home.

Sallye was born in Wayne County July 10, 1926, to the late George Calvin Tilton and Mary Willoughby Tilton.

She was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher and as president of the Christian Woman's Fellowship.

For more than 30 years, Sallye was instrumental in organizing the annual peanut brittle fundraiser for the church.

Sallye was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be loved by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronnie Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Sallye is survived by her husband, Luther Henry Anderson; son, Michael H. Anderson and wife, JoAnne, of Fremont; and daughters, Joyce Yvonne "Eve" Anderson Sicard of Farmville, Theresa Anne Anderson Glisson and husband, George, of Goldsboro and Patti Anderson of Durham.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sallye was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Northview Baptist Church, 600 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home.
