Thelma Head Lancaster, 92, Pikeville, went to be with her Lord and savior Monday morning, Jan. 12, 2015, at Countryside Village in Pikeville.
Homegoing services will be held Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, 2015, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at 4 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka.
Mrs. Lancaster was born in Greene County June 23, 1922, to the late Walter and Mary Head.
She was a member of Faro Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and the ladies ministry.
Mrs. Lancaster worked in her later years as a private sitter.
She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine "Gerri" Cox of Rosewood and Judy Howell and husband, Billy, of Goldsboro; a son, Harold Lancaster and wife, Abbie Jean, of Saulston; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Rudolph Lancaster; her son, Leamon Rudolph "Tom" Lancaster; her sister, Edna Smith; brothers, Floyd "Buddy" Head, Lloyd Head and Wilmer "Doodle" Vandiford; and her son-in-law, Douglas Cox.
The family will receive friends other times at the home of her daughter and son-in law, Judy and Billy Howell, 1246 Saulston Road in Goldsboro.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Faro Chapel Ladies Ministry, 3616 Big Daddy Road, Fremont, N.C., 27863.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
