FRANCINE GARRIS GAY

Fran "Babe" Garris Gay, 70, died Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Boyd and Faye Issacs Garris.
She was the retired owner of Garris Jeweler's in Goldsboro.
A private celebration of her life will be held.
Proud of her wonderful family and friends, Fran leaves behind her devoted husband, Bennie C. "Nick" Gay; her children and their families, Boyd and Lisa Mercer and their children, Garris and Callie, Bart and Isabelle Mercer, and Brett and Jennifer Mercer and their children, Chelsea, Hayley and Jeremy; stepchildren and their families, Michael and Dawn Gay and their children, Austin, Jordan and Hannah, Ronnie and Hope Gay and his children, Katie and Taylor, and their mother; a special daughter, Melissa Raynor; a sister, Sandra Garris Harrell; a special cousin and his wife, Buddy and Brenda Kohon; and many special friends.
A special thanks for the outstanding care provided by Dr. James Atkins and the staff of SMOC. She greatly appreciated all of you for your efforts at extending her life by four extra years.
