Mrs. Norma Powell Reardon, one of God's humble Christian servants, passed from the loving embrace of her family into His Almighty presence on Saturday afternoon, May 3, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Pleasant Grove community near Mount Olive, she was blessed to have enjoyed God's earthly blessings for more than 92 years.
Services to celebrate this fine lady's life will be held Monday, May 5, at 4 p.m. at Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church, intersection of Red Hill and Tram Roads, Mount Olive. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Sunday, May 4, from 6 until 8 p.m.
She was a lifelong member of Snow Hill Church and was its long-time treasurer and a faithful Sunday school teacher.
Those loved ones there to welcome her home to heaven were her late husband, Rotha Reardon; her parents, Festus and Jane Whaley Powell; daughter-in-law, Deana Reardon; and countless friends and other loved ones.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Reardon of Mount Olive; two daughters, Carol R. Blizzard and husband, McKinley, of Kinston and Faye R. Jones and husband, Dwayne, of Wilson; grandchildren, Floyd Reardon and wife, Lecia, Benny Reardon, Kathy Ham and husband, Mike, Sandy Tripp and husband, Todd, Claire, Emily, Cassie and Sara Jones; step-grandchildren, Terri Deaver and Debra Spatofora and husband, Ron; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
While they welcome flowers, the family would appreciate Mrs. Reardon's life be remembered by memorial gifts to Snow Hill Church c/o Danielle Lane, 684 Scott's Store Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
