Louise Hines, 74, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at her home in the Kirkwood community.

Louise was born in Wayne County July 5, 1939, to the late Henry Thomas Hines and Mary Louise Griffin Hines.

She had lived many years in Greensboro, and had volunteered at the Crisis Control Center.

After returning to Goldsboro, Louise worked with Waynesborough Historical Village.

Through the years with her family and many friends, she had a patient, caring, understanding and open mind, found wonderful conversation, thereby giving as well as receiving great love. In more recent years, Louise enjoyed the company of many friends in her retirement community at Kirkwood.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Hines Family Cemetery in the Rosewood community. The Rev. Ray Smeltzer will officiate.

The family will greet friends Saturday following the service at the cemetery, and other times at the home of Debi and Marc Holloman, 100 Ashley Ave., Goldsboro.

Louise is survived by her children, Debi Holloman and husband, Marc, of Goldsboro, Beth Oates and husband, Mike, of Greensboro and Andrew Turner and wife, Debbie, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Kristin Holloman, Christopher Oates, Kimberly Oates and Ashlie Turner; and four nieces, Dallie Pollard, Cathy Williford, Lee Ann Sizemore and Mary Leslie Townsend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Hines.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriner's Children Hospital, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, N.C., 28560.
