Mrs. Netta Mae Barnes Stevens, 86, 201 Gold Leaf Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., died Friday, March 21, 2014, at Wilson Medical Center.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. SW, Wilson, N.C. Dr. Issac Burnett will officiate. The burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Extension, Wilson, N.C.
She leaves to continue her legacy and cherish her memory three sons, Linwood Stevens of Plainfield, N.J., Vernon Stevens of Wilson, N.C., and Gregory Stevens Sr. (Patricia) of Goldsboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Joe Stevens (Patricia) of Wilson, N.C., and George Stevens (Gloria) of Durham, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Phenia Stevens of Wilson, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will take place Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St., with the family receiving friends there from 6 to 7 p.m., and at other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, where it will assemble an hour prior to the service in preparation for the funeral procession.
Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Wilson.
