EDNA DAVIS BURWELL

Edna Davis Burwell, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Wake Medical Center after a short illness.
Edna was born in Wayne County on Oct. 4, 1929 to the late Leslie Cardonnell Davis and Lola Mae Hatch Davis. She was married to Bill Burwell, who preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1999. Edna was a faithful member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Circle.
Friends and family will gather for a graveside service on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Robert Bandy officiating. The family will remain following the service to greet family and friends.
Edna is survived by her brother, William Davis of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Anne Davis Michaux of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was preceded in death by her siblings, Leslie C. Davis Jr., Doris D. Jeter, Helen D. Byers and Earle S. Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Edna's memory to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2803 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
