ALLIENE ROBBINS HOOKS

Alliene Robbins Hooks, 96, formerly of Goldsboro, N.C., died Feb. 26 in Lynchburg, Va.

She had been a resident of Valley View Retirement Community in Lynchburg for the past 16 years and most recently of Heritage Green Assisted Living in Lynchburg.

Mrs. Hooks was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Shannon, Miss., the daughter of the late Robert L. and Pearl West Robbins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Hooks Sr., and three brothers, Dr. Cecil W. Robbins, Conrad L. Robbins and Burkett Robbins.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Catherine R. Hanstein of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Charles C. Hooks, Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Lynchburg, Va., and David R. Hooks and wife, Sherri, of Simpsonville, S.C.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hooks and her husband were longtime members of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, with the Rev. James H. Harry officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
