MOUNT OLIVE -- Edward Earl Purdie Sr., 228 Smith Chapel Road, died Thursday at Genesis Health Care Nursing Home.
Funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church, with the Rev. Nebraska Graham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born July 12, 1934, in New Bern to the late James and Marjorie Jordan Purdie. He was married to the late Luella McGirth, Helen Pinckeney and Delores Worrells.
He is survived by eight children.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends at 121 New Hope Village Drive, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
Arrangements are by Haskins Funeral Home.
