Bettie Jean Core Carlisle Simmons, 68, 700 N. Spence Ave., Apt. M1, Goldsboro, peacefully passed from this life Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The triumphant homegoing service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Word Faith Center, 296 Buck Swamp Road. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.
Beautiful memories are cherished by her loving husband, Theodore Alexander Simmons of the home; her children, Sharon Carlisle of Northern, Va., E. Selena Carlisle of Greenville and Jeff Carlisle and wife, Kim, of Raleigh; her siblings, Betty (Curtis) Williams of North Carolina, Sarah B. Lane of North Carolina, Edith C. Nobles of North Carolina, James Ray Core of Maryland, Joseph (Carolyn) Core of North Carolina, Herman Core of South Carolina, Kenneth Core, of North Carolina, Thomas (Carolyn) Core Jr., Swindell (MaryAnn) Core and Douglas (Carolyn) Core; two grandchildren, Christina and Joshua Carlisle of Raleigh; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of Edith Core Nobles, 304 Olive St., where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
