Lee Sasser Jr., 89, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Lee was born in Wayne County June 22, 1924, to the late Lee Sasser Sr. and Nina Musgrave.
He was a retired farmer and fertilizer agent in the Saulston community.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Horace Ferguson and the Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Interment will take place Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Wilma Lancaster Sasser; his daughters, Gail Shearin and husband, Malcolm, Debby Sasser and Jill Sasser all of Goldsboro; son, Jack Lee Sasser of Raleigh; and grandchild, Kristin Shearin Mayo and husband, Patrick, of Sterling, Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hicks.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
