Kathryn Rowe Edwards Davis, 79, Perry Farm Lane, went to be with her Lord and savior Monday evening, Sept. 9, 2013, with her family by her side at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Homegoing services will be held this evening (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends afterward and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Jim Teachey, 1013 Vail Road in Pikeville.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Princeton.

Mrs. Davis was born in Wayne County to J.C. and Lillie Hill Edwards Jan. 18, 1934.

She was a member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and a member of Goldsboro Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Davis retired from Belk Department store in Goldsboro after 25 years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her loving husband, Elmer Ray Davis; two daughters, Rae Ann Davis of Pikeville and Susie Teachey and husband, Jim, of Pikeville; two sisters, Dora Mae Delahoussaye and husband, George, of Monroe, La., and Faye Vann and husband, Ben, of Cathlamet, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Fritz of Mount Olive; four grandchildren, Hillary Davis, Mark Wilson, Matthew Teachey and Phillip Teachey; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Davis, Avery Wilson and Cooper Wilson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Darlene Davis, and a brother, Charles "Bud" Franklin Edwards.

The family sends its heartfelt appreciation to the staffs of 3HC of Goldsboro and Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their kindness and compassionate care to its loved one and the family.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be sent to Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
