Jerry Dee King, 72, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Jerry was born in Howard County, Ind., Feb. 7, 1941, to the late Otis Andrew King and Laura Mae Helvie King.
He retired from Sears Department Store, and had also worked with Edwards Brothers in Berkeley Mall.
Jerry attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, followed by a service to celebrate Jerry's life at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will be in Hales Family Cemetery.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Viola H. King; his son, Jeffery King of Indiana; stepdaughters and spouses, Debbie and Terry Brake and Phyllis and Mike Smith of Goldsboro; brother, Lloyd King of Lancing, S.C.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in Jerry's memory to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
