PEGGY B. CARROLL
June 1, 1934-June 4, 2013
Peggy June Bolick Carroll, 79, passed away Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Kermit K. and Zelma Williams Bolick.
She was an educator with the former Goldsboro city schools, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and the United Sunday school class.
Peggy was very active in her church, which included the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and United Methodist Youth Fellowship, and was the founder of the SonShine Clods. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years, and in years past was a coach for several Providence Church softball teams.
A service to celebrate the life of Peggy Carroll will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Terry Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Family members will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband of 57 years, Billy B. Carroll; her children, Dale Carroll and wife, Cindy, of Asheville, Todd Carroll and wife, Lori, of Goldsboro, Delette Carroll Jarnagin and husband, Willie, of Goldsboro and Susan Carroll Basden and husband, Greg, of Valparaiso, Ind.; two brothers, Steve Bolick of Denver, N.C., and Caleb Bolick of Maiden, N.C.; a sister, Joy Sigmon of Charleston, S.C.; her grandchildren, Billy B. Carroll II, Landon Carroll, Lewis Carroll, Courtney Lane, B. Davis Carroll, Jes Jarnagin, Capt. J. Brooks Jarnagin, Lindsay Reeves and Sydney Basden; and her great-grandchildren, Hailey Carroll, Peyton Carroll, Kaylyn Lane, Cole Lane and Jax Lane.
