MORGANTON -- Doris Flowers Mathany, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Mrs. Mathany was the daughter of the late C.W. and Mary Westbrook Flowers, and the widow of Richard Raymond Mathany.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro.
Before retiring, she worked in retail sales of ladies fashions at Weil's, Belk's and Brody's in Goldsboro.
A service to celebrate her life will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bentonville, with the Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol Moffatt and husband, Ric, of Morganton, Mary Sue Jennette and partner, Peg Hudson, of Asheville and Sharon M. Fitch of Cary; her son, Michael W. Jennette and wife, Tara, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Katie Motes and husband, Rick, Beau Moffatt and wife, Daisy, Melissa Jordan and husband, Brent, Wayne Embrey, Benjamin Jennette, Mallory Jennette and Jennifer Buell and husband, David; and great-grandchildren, Virginia, Sarah and Zebedee Motes and Everly and Arlo Jordan.
Mrs. Mathany is also survived by her sisters, Ruth F. Porter and husband, Herman, of Goldsboro and Bobbie F. Hollowell of Bentonville and also several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bentonville.
