Needham David Daughtry, 73, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at his home.

David was born in Johnston County Feb. 3, 1940, to the late Chester Solomon Daughtry and Anne Margaret Massengill Braswell.

He owned and operated Daughtry's Wrecker Service in Goldsboro for 35 years.

David was a member of New Hope Church of God, where he served as a Sunday school teacher.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating David's life at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Gene Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Josephine Woodard Daughtry; son, Randy Daughtry and wife, Melissa, of Goldsboro; daughter, Wanda Whitfield of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Kelli D. Chandler and husband, Tyler, Craig Daughtry and Brooke Amory; brothers, Jimmie Daughtry and wife, Carla, and Don Braswell and wife, Theresa; and sister, Melba Winstead and husband, Carlton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Graham Braswell, and his mother and father-in-law, Milton Hayden Woodard and Mary Ellen Woodard.
