MITTIE EXUM BIZZELL

May 23, 1927-April 9, 2013

Mittie Exum Bizzell, affectionately known as "Sister Paul," passed away Tuesday at Life Care Facility in Rocky Mount.

She was born in Wayne County to the late Paul Exum Sr. and Josiephene Chatman Exum.

Mittie was a member of New Deliverance Church in Kinston.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with Dr. Glenn Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery on Central Heights Road.

Mittie is survived by her son, Mahlon Exum and wife, Linda, of Missouri; grandchildren, Jordan and Oteria; great-granddaughter, Brynn Monet; and sister-in-law, Mamie Exum.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, many close friends and extended family, including the children and grandchildren of the late Richard and Gladys Gray.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bizzell was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bizzell, and her two brothers, George Exum and Paul Exum Jr.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Life Care in Rocky Mount for the love and care it provided for Mittie during her final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

Also a thank you to the caregivers at Goldsboro Assisted Living and Wayne Memorial Hospital who cared for Mittie over these past years.
