DUDLEY -- Grayson R. Strickland, 11, 108 Southwinds Drive, Dudley, died Tuesday morning at his home.
Born in Orange County, he was the son of Darlene Rose Strickland.
He was a fifth-grade student at Edgewood Developmental School, and a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Braswell and the Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Along with his mother, Grayson is survived by his brother, Dylan Thomas Strickland of the home; grandmother, Carolyn Strickland of Dudley; uncle, Christopher Todd Strickland (and Tiffany) of Dudley; aunt, Tony Mann of Lubbock, Texas; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James "Eddy" Strickland.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
