Wednesday morning, Feb. 27, 2013, Wilma Sasser Casey, 88, Sleepy Creek, moved to her heavenly home.

Wilma was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family, and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.

Wilma was born in Wayne County Feb. 24, 1925, to the late John A. Sasser and Minnie Neal Sasser.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Miles Junius Casey.

Wilma was a longtime member of Westwood United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. She was devoted to her church, and was involved in many activities, where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Wilma was employed for more than 411/2 years at Branch Bank and Trust Co.

She was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life. Above all, Wilma loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren. She will be missed.

A service celebrating Wilma's life will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose, the Rev. Doug Bartlett and the Rev. Rufus Butner officiating. Interment will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Pamela C. Barrow and husband, Sammy, of Sleepy Creek; son, Rudy Casey and wife, Wilma, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Ryan Casey and wife, Heather, Jessica B. Burnham and husband, Jason, Todd Casey and wife, Kelly, and Sommer B. Carraway and husband, Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle Casey, Bennett Casey, Aiden Casey, Mason Casey, Saylor Carraway and Riley Burnham.

She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Willow Creek Nursing Home for the love and care it provided for Wilma during the past few weeks. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2013, from 6 to 7 p.m. and immediately following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
