BETTY J. PITTS

Betty Jane Goatley Pitts passed away Saturday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Bertha G. Goatley.
Mrs. Pitts was a graduate of St. Catherine College in Springfield, Ky., and a 25-year veteran of the United States Air Force.
A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with Gabby Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield, Ky., at a later date.
Family members will greet friends Monday evening following the service.
Betty J. Pitts is survived by a sister, Doris Johnson of Rockledge, Fla.; nieces, Pam deLuca of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kay Poole of Coco, Fla.; nephews, Jeff Harris of Goldsboro, George Goatley of Delray Beach, Fla., and Jim Goatley of Aitkin, Minn.; and a special friend, Ray Aube of Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Springfield Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Main St., Springfield, Ky., or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530
