PIKEVILLE -- George Selby Lancaster, 77, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Selby was born in Wayne County Oct. 21, 1935, to the late Oscar Lancaster and Mollie Williams Lancaster.
He was self-employed in the logging industry.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Wiggins officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lancaster Family Cemetery next to the family home.
Selby is survived by his wife, Rose Crocker Lancaster; his sons, George Selby Lancaster Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Dudley and Hugh Bryant Lancaster of Patetown; and his grandchildren, Joseph W. Lancaster, James S. Lancaster, R. Justin Lancaster, Mcaylin Lancaster and Joshua Lancaster.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to the Patetown Church of God, 215 Church of God Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Southeastern Medical Oncology, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
