CULLEN BLACKMOND "C.B." PRICE JR.

Cullen Blackmond "C.B." Price Jr., 74, passed away Friday evening at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a six-year battle with leukemia.

A service to celebrate the life of C.B. Price will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Carlisle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Born in Mount Olive, he was the son of the late Mary and Cullen Price Sr. He was a member of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church and Baird's Creek Presbyterian Church of Valle Crucis.

C.B. is survived by his wife, Virginia Turner Price of Kure Beach and Banner Elk; three children, Angie Bridgers and husband, Tony, of Rosewood, April Hatcher and husband, Johnny, of Clinton, and Holly Quinn and husband, Scott, of Greenville; four step-children, Hunter Burnette and wife, Nicole, of Raleigh, Trevor Burnette and wife, Jodi, of Lake Geneva, Wis., Rebecca Keaton and husband, Dwayne, of Greensboro, and Katherine Burnette of Dubai, UAE; grandchildren, Tray and Nicole Bridgers, Kristy Bridgers, Haley Evans, Grace Quinn, Olivia and Ashley Burnette, Summer, River and Levi Burnette and Kelly and Meredith Keaton; great-grandchild, Layla Bridgers; and two sisters Betty P. Anderson of Mount Olive and Peggy P. Todd of Fayetteville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda P. Best and Mildred P. McCullen; and a grandson, Cullen Brad Evans.

C.B. received his undergraduate degree from NC State University and his master's degree from East Carolina University. He took pride in his 30 years spent serving children as an educator in the Wayne County Public School System. He was the owner of Price and Company Construction and was a founding member of the Executive Club of Mount Olive.

He was an avid woodworker and carpenter, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved mountain life.
