George Albert Warrick, 80, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at his home.

George was born in Wayne County Jan. 29, 1932, to the late Dr. Luby Warrick and Ina Stevens Warrick.

He owned and operated Warrick's Mill on Stevens Mill Road for many years, and following his retirement, he started W&S Construction Co. with his son.

George was a graduate of Grantham High School, and had attended Campbell University and Wake Forest University.

He was a longtime member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. George was devoted to his church, serving as a deacon, trustee, choir member and Sunday school teacher.

He was also a
charter member of Grantham Volunteer
Fire Department.

George enjoyed golfing and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his precious grandchildren.

For those who knew him, George will be remembered by his charm, quick wit and his smile.

The love in George's life was God, family and church. He will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall at Falling Creek Baptist Church, with a service remembering George at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Dr. Billy Webb and Dr. Alton Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet Bryan Warrick; son, Timmy Warrick and wife, Cindy; daughter, Kristie Warrick Kennedy; and granddaughters, Lindsey Kennedy and Sarah Warrick.

He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Warrick and wife, Barbara; sisters, Betty Best and Linda Harris and husband, Bill; a dear friend and caregiver, Rick Brunt; and a large extended family.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Falling Creek Baptist Church, 498 Falling Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
