Mary Elizabeth Campbell Sutton, 87, passed away this morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 24, 1925, to the late Warren W. Campbell and Thelma Moore Campbell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Blanch Campbell and her brothers, Robert Edwin Campbell and William H. Campbell (Bill). She also was preceded by death by her husband, Benjamin Earl Sutton.

She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Lewis of Kenansville, Gail Wade and husband, Linwood, of Goldsboro, Earlene Beamon and husband, Mike of Durham and her son, Benjamin (Benny) Earl Sutton, Jr. of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Glenn Lewis and wife, Janet, Daniel Lewis of Kenansville, Joseph Wade of Wilmington, Valerie Mace and husband, Brian of Roxboro, Lindsey Beamon of Goldsboro and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Warren W. Campbell of Goldsboro, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Sasser of Goldsboro, and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
