Doris Lucille Smith Williams, 88, formerly of 1713 Salem Church Road, died Wednesday evening at Willow Creek Nursing Home. Born in Wayne County to the late Charles Goliath Smith and Beulah Parnell Smith, she was the wife of the late Oscar A. Williams and mother of the late Peter Williams and Alan Williams. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Smith and Charles Smith. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church and the St. Mary Guild.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Williams life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick Keane officiating. Burial will follow in Willowdale Cemetery. Family members will greet friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Williams of Goldsboro, David and Christine Williams of Mount Airy, Md., Tony Williams of Goldsboro, Andy and Polly Williams of Fremont, Greg Williams of Cary, Mark and Debbie Williams of Kellar, Texas and Danny and Elizabeth Williams of Wilmington; her daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia and Larry Hollinder of Florence, Mont., Barbara and Barry Elam of Raleigh and Rose Mary and Fred Little of Gastonia; two sisters, Mildred Crumpler and Ruby Perry; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels, 601 Royall Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or St. Mary Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
