Judy Thornton Coker, 62, died Sunday at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Preston Thornton and Bessie Jordan Thornton.
She was a member of Jones Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, and worked for Cooper Bussmann for 27 years.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Robert Overton and the Rev. Tim Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. Coker is survived by her husband, Kenneth Coker; a son, Clifton Coker of Grantham; a daughter, Teresa Coker of Falls Church, Va.; six brothers, Shelton and Irene Thornton, Preston and Carolyn Thornton, Gary Thornton and his friend, Terry Myreck, and Harold Thornton and wife, Kathy, all of Grantham, Rayvon and Rita Thornton of Wilson Mills and Gordon and Jenny Thornton of Indian Springs; and two sisters, Violet Thornton and Frances and James Capps all of Grantham.
