EDWARD J. JERNIGAN

WILSON -- Edward Earl "Bud" Jernigan, 76, Wilson, formerly of Mount Olive and Newton Grove, died Sunday afternoon, April 29, at Wake Medical Center.

A retired auctioneer, he was a veteran of the United States Army, and had served in the North Carolina National Guard.

Services will be held Thursday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Paul Rose and the Rev. Emery Hacket. Interment will be Friday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove, and will include military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday immediately after the services.

He is survived by a son, Chris Jernigan and wife, Kim, of Elm City; two daughters, Debbie Debnam and husband, Don, of Knightdale and Denise Outlaw and her significant other, Mike Hobbs, of Turkey; his significant other, Edwina Kaeser of the home, and her daughter, Kristen Goodwyn of Garner; a sister, Delores Lee of Kinston; a brother, W. Sherwood Jernigan of Mount Olive; four half-brothers, Rex Jernigan of Nahunta, Ray Jernigan of LaGrange, Don Jernigan of Kinston and Doug Jernigan of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings and Effie Lee Jackson Jerningan; daughter, Jennifer Leigh Jernigan; and brother, Robert Eugene Jernigan.
