ROSEMARIE SALTRICK DEAN

LYNCH STATION, Va. -- Rosemarie Saltrick Dean, 79, 434 Peninsula Point, Lynch Station, Va., died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was the devoted wife of Thomas Dean Jr. for almost 60 years.

She was born Sept. 17, 1932, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of the late George Soltrick and Kathryn Hudock Valint.

She was a member of St. Victoria Catholic Church, was an expert in knitting and crocheting and loved the computer, bowling and cooking.

She is survived by three sons, William F. Dean and his wife, Angie, Thomas Dean III and his wife, Carrie, and Christopher M. Dean all of Goldsboro; a daughter, Pamela S. Mitchell and her husband, Larry of Arlington, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Victoria Catholic Church, by father James Gallagher, with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Finch and Finch Funeral and Cremation Service in Altavista, Va., and other times at the residence.

The family suggests to Rosemarie's friends that rather than sending flowers, they consider planting roses in her memory.
