LUCILLE R. MERRILL
Lucille Rose Wood Merrill, 79, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Arthur C. Wood and Frances Akey Wood, she was born in Rochester, N.Y., on April 13, 1932. Despite her petite size, she was a spunky fighter who would not give up until God asked her to come home. She leaves behind a grieving and devoted family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Thomas Merrill of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tim Alleman of Rosewood; her daughter, Lori Melvin of Goldsboro; her son, Thomas Merrill II of the home. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Douglas Newell, Brandon LeClerc, Steven Newell and wife, Ashley, Christopher Newell, Sara Alleman, Matthew Alleman and Amanda Rupert, all of Goldsboro. Lucille is also survived by five great grandchildren and a sister, Edna Wood of Philadelphia, Pa.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
