EUGENE W. DOSS
Died March 31, 2012
Retired Air Force Technical Sgt. Eugene W. Doss, 82, 603 Slick Rock Road, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his residence after a valiant battle with lung cancer.
A native of Pulaski, Va., he was the son of the late Joseph and Mittie Parks Doss.
After serving his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, Gene was employed for 20 years with Gas-Fired Products Inc.
Gene loved life and his family, while never hesitating to help others and make people laugh. His infectious spirit and kind heart will be greatly missed by all those he came in contact with.
A service to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Gene is survived by his wife, Vina; sons, Todd, (Lisa) of Goldsboro and Guy, (Donna) of Sanford, daughters; Sharon D. Hagert, (Tom) of Nebraska and Kelly Jean of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, N.C., 27834; Wayne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533; or the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence, 603 Slick Rock Road, Goldsboro.
