FREMONT -- Chester Mooring, 85, died Saturday, March 31, 2012.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.
Mr. Mooring retired from a bread sales delivery route, and had been active in Fremont Fire Department, serving as chief for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Majorie Whitley Mooring in 2008; a great-grandson, Trevor Langlois; parents, Marcellus "Tobe" and Bertie Blow Mooring; sister, Neta Mae Elmore; and brother, Leroy Mooring.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Sasser (Pete) of Fremont; sons, Bryan Mooring (Lynn) of Wilson and Allen Mooring (Nancy) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Woody Sasser, Stephanie Langlois, Christopher Mooring, Lindsay Mooring and Brad Mooring; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Huntly Langlois; and sisters, Eleanor Ballance, Frances West and Evelyn Hooks, all of Fremont.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
