WARSAW -- Ellis Julius Register, 76, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Register was born April 22, 1935, in Duplin County to the late Hallie Davis Register and Reda Mabel Williams Register.
Mr. Register is survived by his wife, Carol Register of the home; a son, David Ellis Register and wife, Pam, of Kenansville; daughters, Debra Sue Grady and husband, Larry Charles of Seven Springs, Ellen Register Verrilli and husband, Dr. Albert "Skip" Verrilli III of Clinton and Melonie Register Kornegay of Warsaw; brother, Donnie Ray Register and wife, Jewel of Warsaw; sisters, Kathy R. Carter and husband, C.B. of Clinton and Bobby Register of Warsaw; eight grandchildren, Mark Ellis Aldridge, Emmanuel Register, Donna Sue Register, Jennifer Herring, Crystal Marie Kornegay, Hillary Ann Verrilli, Bradley Wayne Kornegay and Hannah Olivia Verrilli; and nine great-grandchildren, Dylan Aldridge, Alex Aldridge, Emily Grace Register, Toby Pender, Isabelle Pender, Ryan Register, William Register, Daniel Register and Bailee Henderson.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in Community Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow the service in Devotional Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 709 Memorial Drive, Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
