MARK "BUDDY BOY" WILLIAMS

Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, Mark "Buddy Boy" Williams, 74, was peacefully called home by God to his eternal resting place.
He was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Goldsboro to the late Effie Mae Swinson and the late Dallas Williams.
Mark was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He loved to work in his garden, fix almost anything, i.e. cars and around the house, singing and playing the guitar. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Whenever they were together, he could be found in the corner videotaping to cherish the precious moment in time.
April 23, 1975, Mark married the love of his life -- the lovely Esther Mae Williams. They both loved God with all of their hearts, and their ministry was always helping others in need.
He spent most of his life in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, where he worked as a truck driver for Shang Brothers Trash Co. Shortly thereafter, he went to work at Safeway Milk Plant, where he retired in 1995.
Mark leaves loving memories to cherish to his wonderful wife, Esther Mae Williams; his two daughters, Janice Holland and Belinda Stallings; his three sons, Frankie Wiley, Chester Artis and James "Woosie" Artis; and his grandchildren, Katrina Artis-Price, Stephaine Stallings, Shantelle Stallings, Antwaon Stallings, Don-Tavious Holland, Travis Holland, Shavonne Leonard, Shantae Hayes, Marcus Artis, Benita Artis, Corey Artis, Courtney Artis, Chauncey Wiley, Brennan Goods, Kori Wiley, Kendra Wiley and Kelli Wiley.
He also leaves to cherish fond memories to a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mark "Buddy Boy" Williams leaves everlasting memories, and we will forever miss his physical presence, for we know his home is not in this world, but eternity.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Eastern Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 N. Carolina St., Goldsboro, N.C.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Williams' delicate temple, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Spruill Family Cemetery for interment rites.
Mr. Williams' earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Williams and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
