Dennis Ray Best, 71, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the VA Hospital in Durham.
Dennis was born in Wayne County Feb. 17, 1940, to the late James Edward Best and Josie Estelle Jones Best. He was married to the late Esther Pollock Best.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.
Dennis is survived by his sisters, Christine Sanderson of Kenansville and Evelyn Robinson and husband, Joe, of Rosewood, and his brothers, Bill Best and wife, Carolyn, of Princeton and Paul Best of
Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alene Johnson, and his brother, Edward E. Best.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
