KATHY ANN BRIDGERS

Kathy Ann Bridgers was born Feb. 23, 1956, in Beaufort County to John and Erma Bridgers. She departed this life Nov. 21, 2011, at 3:45 p.m. at her childhood home.
Kathy received her early education in Duplin and Wayne county public schools. She later graduated from Southern Wayne High School. Kathy attended Mount Olive College and attained her degree in business.
Four years of her life were served in the United States Army.
Kathy soon after continued her education at Virginia State, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business.
Her career led her to the naval base in Washington, D.C.
In addition, she attended Virginia Union, where she received her master's degree in divinity. Kathy later worked as a chaplain at Virginia State Prison.
Her career also included employment with the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Afterward, she was employed with the Environmental Protection Agency in Durham, where she retired. Kathy resided in Holly Spring until her health started to fail.
She leaves to cherish her memory loving and devoted parents, John and Erma Bridgers of Mount Olive; a brother, bishop Keith Bridgers (Vivian) of Goldsboro; two sisters, Jewel Bridgers of Goldsboro and Mal Jones (Glenn) of Dudley; her grandmother, Malvious Wells of Goldsboro; three nieces and a nephew, Alexis and Brook (Mal), Brandie Bridgers (Keith) and Julian Tregpagnier (Jewel) of Goldsboro; an aunt, Johnnie Langley (Ghent) of Vero Beach, Fla.; two uncles, Frederick Roberson (Evelyn) of Washington, N.C., and Curtis Bridgers (Judy) of Denver, Colo.

The family would like to express to each of you its appreciation for all acts of kindness shown during the illness and loss of its loved one. May God richly bless you for all of your kind deeds.
