MARGARET SUMMERLIN IVEY

Margaret Summerlin Ivey, 91, formerly of North William Street, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at the Brian Center.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Pikeville, where she was the oldest living member who loved her church family. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Mrs. Ivey was born in Wayne County Nov. 20, 1919, to the late B.E. Summerlin and Maggie Sutton Summerlin.
She was a homemaker, and very devoted to her loving family.
She was a volunteer for Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.
Mrs. Ivey was a member of Belfast Volunteer Fire Department ladies auxiliary.
She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Lankford and husband, Paul, of Virginia; four sons, Norman Ivey and Betty of Goldsboro, Robert "Bob" Ivey and Sandy of Raleigh, Kenneth Ivey and wife, Beverly, of Virginia and Richard Ivey and wife, Marilyn, of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Keith and Cindy, Chris and Carolyn, John and Becca, Crystal and Kenny, Melissa and Zach and Susan; great-grandchildren, Kandice and J.C. and Maddie Rose; a great-great-grandchild, Jesse; a special friend, Sadie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Ivey; a son, Henry Arthur Ivey; and her brother and sisters.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont.
