LAGRANGE -- Lizzie Gooding Warters, 93, Jason Community, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.
Mrs. Warters was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Wayne County to the late Colonel "Sim" Gooding and Annie Tucker Gooding. She was wife of the late Jimmie Warters.
She embraced being a homemaker and farmer's wife.
She enjoyed quilting and cooking, and most of all, she cherished time spent with her family.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Interment will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Cobb Cemetery.
Mrs. Warters is survived by two children, Vera Ellen "Tink" Smith of Waycross, Ga., and Tom Warters and wife, Marjorie, of Jason; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service of remembrance, and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Warters, 7178 N.C. 903 South, LaGrange.
