FREMONT -- Deborah Jonus Irvin, 55, Airport Road, has left her beloved family and friends to be with her Lord and savior. She died at Wayne Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning after a yearlong battle with inflammatory breast cancer.

Deborah was born in Alexandria, Va., April 11, 1956.

She lived in North Carolina the majority of her life, and graduated from Rosewood High School in 1974.

For the past 10 years, she was a dedicated employee of Wal-Mart where she became friends to many with her signature "HEEEY!" and a smile.

She is survived by her grandmother, Leona Langston; mother, Rannette, and stepfather, Rex Stancill; husband, Charles Irvin; daughter, Danielle; her brother, Kirk Jonus and his wife, Jima, and their two sons; her brother, Troy Jonus and his family; her sister, Natasha Stancill-Richman and her husband, Gregg; her sister, Stacey Carter and her family; her special aunt, Brenda Kearney; so many loving friends especially Michelle Sullivan, Pam Ladd, Tracy Riggs and Holly Hill; and her faithful puppy, Obie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Jonus.

The celebration of life services will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro, with visitation afterwards. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
