Juanita Higgins McKnight, 81, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Todd Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Juanita was the daughter of the late John and Clara Mae Wagoner Higgins of Alleghany County, N.C.
Survivors include her son, Doyle Andrew McKnight and wife, Kelly, of Goldsboro; daughter, Debbie McKnight Smith of LaGrange; her brother, Charles Higgins of St. Louis, Mo.; and five grandsons, Andrew Stephen McKnight of Greenville, Samuel Eric Smith of LaGrange, Benjamin Preston Smith of LaGrange, Daniel Bryan McKnight of Raleigh and Michael David McKnight of Raleigh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew McKnight of 62 years of marriage; her son, David McKnight; and brothers, Page Higgins, Paul Higgins, Eugene Higgins and John Higgins Jr.
