PIKEVILLE -- Ronald Arlen "Ron" Rose, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Ron was born in Seattle, Wash., Aug. 4, 1937, to the late Glenn A. Rose and Fern Foote Rose.

He retired from Acme United in Fremont after 13 years of service.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Cotton officiating. Interment will be Friday, May 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Eureka Cemetery.

Ron is survived by his wife, Linda Carter Rose; his sons, Ronald Arlen "Ronnie" Rose II of Wilson, Anthony Glenn "Tony" Rose and wife, Karla, of Goldsboro and Brian Wayne Rose and wife, Corrie, of Pikeville; his stepson, Roger Wayne Sauls and wife, Susan, of Wendell; his stepdaughter, Lisa S. Perry and husband, Lemuel, of Wilson; his grandchildren, Jacob Rose, Kacey Rose, Tanner Rose and Adam Sauls; a brother, Douglas Glenn Rose and wife, Carol, of Henderson, Nev.; and his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Barbara Carter of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Marie Carlyle of Kinston.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service, and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Karla Rose, 204 N. Cottonwood Drive, Goldsboro.
