EUNICE SAUNDERS MEADORS

April 6, 1929-May 7, 2011

Eunice Saunders Meadors, 82, went home to Jesus, her Lord and savior, Saturday evening, May 7, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Meadors was born in Roxboro, N.C., April 6, 1929, to the late Robert Lee and Vesta Townsend Saunders. She was married to the late Walter Vernon Meadors, who passed away in 2000 after 53 years of marriage.

She was a faithful member of Adamsville Baptist Church, serving in many capacities as she helped others in need.

She also was a member of Town and Country Home Extension Club, and was an excellent seamstress.

Eunice was a loving mother to three children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Pamela Meadors Fox (Neal) of Winterville, Keith Samuel Meadors (Tina) of Nolensville, Tenn., and Dr. Walter V. Meadors Jr. (Linda) of Statesville; her sister, Jereline Saunders Turner (Marvin); and her brother, Edward Ray Saunders (Lucy) of Danville, Va.

Surviving grandchildren are Patrick Meadors (Julie) and daughter, Brynn, Philip Meadors, Catherine Meadors Furlong (Ryan), Nina Meadors Davies (Jason) and son, Moses, Brandon Meadors, Chelsea Meadors, Elizabeth Meadors and Sam Meadors.

The Rev. Todd Wiggins will conduct the funeral service Tuesday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Adamsville Baptist, preceding the funeral service.

Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
