Mrs. Rosalena Rodgers Barnes, 71, 1341 Tommys Road, Goldsboro, N.C., was born Jan. 18, 1940, to the late Edward and Helen D. Rodgers. She died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at her residence in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held, Friday, April 29, 2011, at 12 noon at Atkinson Missionary Baptist Church, 634 S. Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with pastor Charles Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Barnes Family Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Barnes; two sons, Jeffrey of Goldsboro, N.C., and Ronald of Stuart, Fla.; a sister, Clynethia (William) Smith of District Heights, Md.; a brother, Linwood (Laura) Rodgers of Atlanta, Ga.; a grandson; a godson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Thursday, April, 28, 2011, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 2 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society chapter of your choice.
